ABOUT
Hello! My name is Dee Sapalo.
In 2013, I joined the local kink community and observed that a key contributor to our struggles as vanilla adults were due to our limited tools for navigating our desires in satisfying, safer, and sustainable ways. BDSM offered alternatives: ones that were affirming, consensual, and risk-aware—without removing a near-essential component: fun.
In 2016, I started Shibari.PH, which has since grown into the largest active rope bondage community and educational resource in the Philippines. With a small team of friends and volunteers, we push for body-, sex-, and kink-positivity by: teaching online seminars, F2F workshops, and masterclasses on practicing my style of shibari; delivering private demonstrations, public performances, and even TEDx presentations that dispel myths about what we do; spreading awareness via social media content despite shadowbans, censorship, and misrepresentation, and; collaborating with both local and international partners to share their art and inspire our local communities.
